Did the external usb drive work on a real system ?
What format did the drive have ? NTFS, FAT32 ?
Did you put it direct to your motherboard, or do you use a usb-hub ?

Best to plug it in before you boot the CD.

that is very strange ! if you plug it in before booting direct to a usb port,
            it normaly must work !
What version of ubcd4win did you use?
What source did you use for building?
Can you give more information about the external usb-drive?
Can you make another test with a usb-stick ?

yes fat32...do you think i should put it on ntfs?

its a plu&play external hard drive by western digital

                  maybe i should try 3.12.

thank you very much so far...

                    Hey,

                    just for information: it WORKS!!!

                    what i did?

                    1. i build a UBCD4WIN with the newest version

                    2. i created a folder on the empty hdd just give the software something to read on this drive

                    3. while booting the hdd wasn't found by the software but after starting "install devices" and "force usb" ...it finally works

well, i've got to say thank you for your help and for this incredible little tool!!! clapping.gif
