PC Tools Antivirus problem with UBCD4WIN

    Dunno if it's really a false positive but I noticed,when installing (unpacking) the big ubcd4win exe,
    and if you have IntelliGuard protection ON,in PC Tools Antivirus, it delete's the file
    "UBCD4WinBuilder.exe" upon unpacking the package... :P

        Actually, read the message that pops up to know what really happened. Our HashChecking tool does not extract the UBCD4WinBuilder.exe file if files are missing. The only way files can be missing is if your "protection" software deletes them as they are extracted. If HashCheck finds files missing then it will pop up a message explaining what happened and what you should do. I've never heard of any protection software actually targeting UBCD4WinBuilder.exe.

          I HAVE read the FAQ and it did not answer my problem. :)
          But I figured it out myself..

          Since PC TOOLS ANTIVIRUS does not even alert about the builder.exe and just removes it upon extracting...
          --->
          TURN OFF THE INTELLIGUARD WHILE UNPACKING UBCD4WIN.EXE and you're fine.
          This thread can be now closed,and people with the same problem should be directed to this thread. :)

            Running full scan with Spyware Doctor, a Google PC Tools application, I get a Cdur Trojan detected in a single file in the UBCD4 directories.

            Anybody else get this result?

            It appears to be a false positive since a real Cdur infection should create multiple exe files in the computer. I've looked for some of these files and not found them where they should be.

                I have had problems with V322 missing UBCD4WinBuilder.exe (Missing UBCD4WinBuilder) which you have solved with this post.

                Unfortunately the messages that you seem to think are displayed to tell me what has gone wrong ("message that pops up") do not in fact display.

                "If HashCheck finds files missing then it will pop up a message explaining what happened and what you should do." - doesn't happen.

                Number of downloads: 14 with all the dialogs that I got displayed.

                  The "Integrity Check" error message shown in your attached .pdf clearly illustrates that you are experiencing conflicts with your installed security software. ;)

                  Please try again from scratch ; install and build in SAFE MODE.

                    Hey, perhaps if there was added a small note to that line in the integrity check failed message (and perhaps in other messages) to indicate more clearly that the end result of this will be that UBCD4WinBuilder.exe will NOT be extracted?

                    Also maybe to the FAQ topics.

                    See comment in other thread filled with fun if needed.
                    Here since February 2007, and just now got 7 demerits. I love me some Troll thread.
