About a week and a half ago I purchased a HyperX flash drive for $88 at Tech Data because it was the lowest price at the time. I figured I needed a bigger drive and wanted something faster.
Today I found this:
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16820134616
HALF THE PRICE??!!!
I double checked prices around everywhere else and it's still selling at other sites in the $80-$90 area.
So we ordered two more (one so I could do a return at Tech Data) and hope the order goes through.
If you are in the market for a new flash drive, get this drive!! $45, shipped!
Like I mention, I don't know if this is a mistake or if there was a big price drop. Don't wait too long to order just in case this is a mistake.

I did some quick benchmarks after I received it, haven't had time to do many more but plan to soon.
There was a big difference in copy times when using Tom's UBUSB tool when compared to my old 4GB DataTraveler. It took the 4GB drive 50 minutes to copy over all the files, the HyperX only took 12 minutes! However I was a bit disappointed when I found the DT actually booted about 25 seconds faster than the HyperX?? The builds were slightly different so that could have caused that? I don't know for sure yet because I haven't had the time at home to redo the DT and time boot speeds. I hope to soon and hope to do a "review" comparing the DT, HyperX, and another 4GB drive I have.
I do want to mention also that initially I wasn't that happy with my HyperX. It is faster and nicer but at the time I did not feel it was fast enough to warrant spending an extra $50! However, with the price drop I really feel it is worth the price and am very happy with the performance.

Can you make a test with H2testw.exe ?
Here a test with my Transcend stick:
Writing: 7 MBytes/s
Verifying: 28 Mbytes/s

I did a test with HDTune and the read speeds were 31MB/s. The free version doesn't test write speeds, I'd buy the Pro version but I think $35 is a bit steep for the few extra features it provides.
I'll do a test with H2testw and let you know.

I was checking that out and came across this deal on newegg..
New Egg - Corsair Flash Voyager 16GB
After a $20.00 MIR and free shipping it's only $27.99.. Not bad.. I'll post how it performs when I get it..
I just wish it was the GT version.. Not seeing many retailers with that though..

Yes, please let us know. I was half tempted in getting one just to see which performs better. Personally I find it a little ugly too so that's what really pushed me away from buying it. Maybe I'll be able to sell a few things at work so I could afford to buy one for testing. I really hope to have some pretty and fun graphs listing my findings between 4 or 5 sticks I currently have.

If you receive emails from NewEgg, you'll find this item in their latest newsletter.
There is a $5 PROMO code so after rebate it is now $19.99!! Pretty sweet deal considering shipping is free also.
Here is the promo code but I'm not sure if it will work for everyone. I think you have to be signed up for their newsletter in order for the promo code to work, or maybe you just need an account with them?

One quick note. Sometimes I wonder if NewEgg can read my mind? Back in August I was shopping for an MP3 player for one of my boys. I had been checking prices for about a week or two and almost bought it from buy.com because they had a decent price on it but I waited. The next day I received a NewEgg newsletter and what I wanted was at an awesome price! I promptly purchased it. Now, we've been talking about this Corsair drive for several days, there have been a few price drops, and now a promo code?! Coincidence? Maybe they have a super cookie on my computer and if I look at it a few times they put that/those items in their next newsletter?
