I just d/l ubc4win and like it. However I have questions concerning the recovery console commands.

BOOTCFG /add - Is this for if the boot loader gets corrupted and you need to recreate the MBR?
    /disableredirect /enableredirect - I don't understand this

CHKDSK - there are only two switches mentioned, are there others

DISABLE/ENABLE - I ran LISTSVC and found my wireless card was disabled. As I want internet I tried to
enable it but something was wrong with my syntax. How do I en/disable services? The disabled service
was Atheros Wireless Service. (I am unsure of the last word but I do not think that the WORD really
    matters)

FIXBOOT - Does this just write a new boot list

FIX MBR - Is there a difference between this and FIXBOOT

LOGON - what is its purpose

MAP - what are ARC paths

SYSTEMROOT - best as I can tell if you have a corrupted (whatever window's) /bin (is) you recreate it and
SYSTEMROOT tells windows which one to pay attention to. But I would think that would mess up other
    programs.

    Help?

This article may help explain some of the commands http://icrontic.com/...pair_windows_xp.

I hate to take this away from you but...even though that was a socially awkward post that TheBiff made...it does answer some if not most of your questions.

Try taking 2 seconds to scroll down the page :P

            To the section titled:

            "Command actions"

            !!!

"The following list describes the available commands for the Recovery Console: "

            !!!!!!

"Logon displays detected installations of Windows and requests the local Administrator password for those installations. Use this command to move to another installation or subdirectory."

Thats just a tiny TASTE of what answers await you when you check the link posted in the first reply!!

            :P
