Hi Everyone,
I built a UBCD4WIN disc on my Win XP Pro SP3 Dell Dimension computer. A friend of mine has a Sony computer with Windows XP Home Edition SP3. His system was severely damaged by the MS Spy-ware 2009 virus , which caused some hardware damage on his machine. Including damage to his BIOS . Tapping the usual keys during a restart will not bring up the boot options screen.
So if I boot to my UBCD4WIN disc on his computer , and select Recovery Console on the UBCD4WIN start up screen , will the Recovery Console that comes up , be the correct Console for his Windows XP Home Edition computer , and not a
Win XP Pro Recovery Console ?
I was wanting to try and attempt a repair re-install on his computer to minimize the personal files that would be deleted on his computer.
Thanks.

Hello,
use UBCD4win to see if he has a i386 folder on his c: drive copy that and then you can use Bart 's instructions Here:
Bart got instruction how ro make bootable installation Windows CD when you got i386 folder only.
http://www.nu2.nu/bootcd/#wxp
to make an installation Cd
also try saving his files using UBCD4WIN before you attempt any repair
