First of all I would like to thank everyone who has made this project possible. I just built my first UBCD4Win cd and...it works. After playing around with it for a while a thought came to mind. Is it possible to install or otherwise place UBCD4Win on the hard drive and make it appear as a boot option? Certainly I am not the first one to think of this but my retarded search skills did not yield what I was looking for. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be most grateful.
Thank you all for this project.

      hello,

      PE Builder v3 plugin
      PEINST - BartPE Installer v2
BartPE installer is for advanced users only!
The peinst.cmd script installs BartPE to harddisk or other device. The program should be self explaining in its usage.

All files to use the BartPE installer are included with PE Builder.

        Just a note:

Although it is possible to do this, the UBCD4Win and other PE based projects are intended for troubleshooting and diagnostics purposes and not as a full fledged operating system. There are many options that may not be available when running a Preinstalled Environment from hard disk in place of a fully installed operating system and it should not be used as a way to circumvent the activation process and legitimate use of the software/OS..

          Hi Ben Mott,
          Thanks for the info.
I got pebuilder installed and on to the boot menu with peinst. Neat.
Looks like I have some driver issues with some computers so I will resolve this before moving on to uUBCD4win.
I intend to use UBCD4win as a supplement to or possibly a replacement for the recovery console.
          Thanks again.

alright, but this only works if there is already a boot.ini and a ntldr in place. How am I supposed to build a HDD, that only contains a bootable UBCD4WIN? How do I get a proper ntldr? What does the boot.ini look like?

              thanks!
