Use a existing plugin as example. e.g. plugin\Disk\Partition\bootbuild
Copy the plugin. Change the plugin to your needs.
Do you use? ftp://ftp.symantec.c...es/PTEDIT32.zip

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, that's the same ptedit32 as I use.
I use it when trying to access the hidden partition on my Acer. (Recovery)
Your plan is what I was trying.
I am having a problem with that and I will start a new thread.
How's this?

Not sure whether the attribute in WinntDirectories should be 2 or 3.

If we could do it alone, we would not need each other.

All tested and working.
My problem, I think, was trying to build with my Security AV "ON".
Turned it off and the build is just fine.
Still not sure whether the attribute in WinntDirectories should be 2 or 3.
Thanks again.

Thanks again.
I have that but I would like it in "simple" english.
What does this mean?
Create directory from (output) root (in \ and not in \i386).
Where is "(output) root"?
(in \ and not in \i386) ????
Sorry but I really am having a lot of trouble understending this.
Have the same problem with the "SourceDisksFiles section".
Attribute descriptions are not intuitive for a novice.
If you could through some light on this, it would save me a lot of grief.
Thanks,
Joe

In this instance, does this mean the plugin folder?
Or does it mean the root of the drive? ( as is the normal meaning of root)
Or the root of the “System”?

Or the root of the “System”?
What it means IS listed in the thread you were given a link to... its also listed in the help files you will find in the project folder ( ie [UBCD4Win]\help
Plan A is always more effective when the device you are working on understands that Plan B involves either a large hammer or screwdriver....

Then maybe you should take up other endeavors -- like golf, tennis, SCUBA diving,
or just go and get an airplane pilot's license as something new to do.
Sounds like computer stuff is a bit 'too demanding' of your time...
