    Hi,

One of my friends asked me to help him recover his computer from a virus. He needs the computer probably by Thursday. I know I'm new to this forum but I would really appreciate if someone would help me. Thanks!

    Description of the problem:

I have spent the whole day trying to build an .iso with UBCD4. I have a dell installation cd. (I know this makes my situation 100X harder) I followed the instructions at this link Dell Installation CD word for word. After looking at this forum, I realized that my link is basically a quick summary of everything here. After doing that, I ran into a problem after running fixdell.cmd. I have taken a screenshot of my problem. I really hope it's an easy fix. Thanks again!

      Error: Access is denied

Looks like loading setupreg.hiv is being blocked. Reboot into safe mode to run the fixdell.cmd and build UBCD4Win.
If you're afraid of taking any chances then the chances are great that you will never learn anything

I have Zone Alarm and Spy Sweeper. I'll try disabling both of them and then report back to see what happens.

            Thanks! Any other suggestions?

Unfortunately, disabling them didn't help. What should I do now?

The easiest thing at this point might be to either build on another computer or install XP in a VM and build from there.

I borrowed a friend's computer and just used her disk. Thanks for the help!
