    Hi,

Very new to this utility. I am working with an old Dell C600 laptop trying to recover/ disable the BIOS admin password. Thought I would see if this thing can do it.-- if it can't, let me know and I won't waste anymore time. If it can, great. Then my next question is after creating the bootable CD and running it for the first time I get a password prompt on the very first starting point "Starting CD...ok" Password: _

Is this that same issue I am trying to resolve blocking me? or something else? Hope I provided enough info. Thanks for any help in advance.

Nope it's a different problem. You enabled the boot password plugin for your build. Search the forum and you will find out what the password is.

        Thanks,

I found another post that said to rebuild the ISO and remove the password enable feature if you are not really using it. I did that and found when I highlight the plugin and click the configure button it seems to show a default password or I can set it there.

        thanks.

If you don't want it, then why are you clicking Configure? If you just want to get rid of it, then click the Enable/Disable button.

            Hi coreweb1

to remove the Dell Bios passwords you need a special Dell Utility (to clear eprom chip)
Dell and some repair business can do this but usually will require proof of ownership

The Hard Disk power on password is not reset by this utility.

            regards
