Hi, I am new to this system so apologies if this is the wrong place!
I am trying to use the Linux software on the UBCD to look at a hidden partition on a HDD that has one Windows (Vista) partition and one hidden recovery partition. Can anyone suggest which Linux on the CD to use and what command structure I should use to mount and view the hidden partition. I have tried all the commands found via Google but none seem to work as the Linux on the CD does not show any partitions on the HDD at all. I understand the partition needs to be mounted first, but without Linux at least seeing them I am getting nowhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

assuming you mean ubcd4win and not ubcd then explore2fs and R-linux use drivers running under Windows to see Linux partitions
have you added your own Linux to ubcd4win's BCDW boot menu?

are you sure your hidden partition is Linux FS based rather than FAT or NTFS ?.

Is the Hidden Partition at start or end of the disk ?

Does MMC Drive Management show the hidden partition as existing?

You're playing with fire.

The partition type can be changed with just one byte but I don't suggest doing that since you're asking how to do it in the first place.
