Build went OK, but when UBCB4Win boots it doesn't recognize my hard drive (320 GB Western Digital WD3200AAKS). I tried to Google for the driver for it so I could include the driver as a SCSIAdapter driver (and disabling the Driverpacks.net - Mass Storage plugin), but I couldn't find it (the driver for the hard drive). Does anyone know where I can find the driver for the drive? Or is there another fix?

      Hi TE7

you need a driver for the 'hard disk controller' NOT the 'hard disk drive'

      regards

Well crap, my psychic abilities just left me. I knew what you had earlier but it's not working right now. Tell us what you have. What motherboard or what model computer?

I'm not getting replies to my email. That's why it takes me so long to reply. I have to keep checking the page. Sorry for the delay.

I just realized that the hard disk controller is on the motherboard. I had a floppy with the driver on it. I added it as a SCSIAadpter driver and everything works now. I just had to get educated. Sorry for the time wasted.

Cool, glad you figured it out. I quickly looked up the information before work this morning but did not have the chance or time to act on that information.
It is a learning process and hope you also learned that in order for people to help you, you have to provide us with the right information.

I am having the same issue. I have a Dimension 8400 and a "missing" hard drive. The PC belongs to my folks and when I went looking I couldn't find the floppy you were referring to. I did find the "Drivers and Utilities" disc; is it on there? I am having the darndest time with this thing...

There is one of the Dell CDs you can boot from which, when you boot from it, you can make a hard drive controller floppy disk (you have to have an A drive floppy disk drive). The CD you boot from should be named "Dell Dimension ResourceCD". If you make the floppy, just reply back and I'll tell you what to do from there. Good luck.
