There is one of the Dell CDs you can boot from which, when you boot from it, you can make a hard drive controller floppy disk (you have to have an A drive floppy disk drive). The CD you boot from should be named "Dell Dimension ResourceCD". If you make the floppy, just reply back and I'll tell you what to do from there. Good luck.

I see the drivers on the floppy, but I am still trying to figure how to add the correct one(s) to the Drivers\SCSIAdapter folder.

I think I got it - a case of RTFM and stop second-guessing myself. But do I have to disable the mass storage plugin? Does it cause a problem if I don't?

If it sees your hard drive with it enabled then you should be ok.
If you're afraid of taking any chances then the chances are great that you will never learn anything

Just remember to add a folder called MyDriver to the UBCD4Win/drivers/SCSIAdapter folder and put your floppy driver in it. I disabled the DriverPacks.net - Mass Storage plugin for mine and it worked.
