Builder has stopped because there are 4 build errors ISO image is not created, you must fix the errors! Build process done... There where 4 errors and 0 warnings ... I am using WinXP SP2, the XP Cd is copied to the HD. Any help is highly appreciated. TIA gogoK |

Can you manually delete the 4 files mentioned above? Do the files exist?
What version of XP do you have OEM/Corp/Home/Pro etc... What language version are you using? Firstly I'd try deleting everything and start again extracting the contents of the files in this order: BartPE UBCD4Win Drivers, if your using them. This will sometimes correct the problem. |

I am using WinXP GER Professional SP2 I have tried to delete the files manually already but this was not possible as any process avoided this. I had to reboot the computer and after this I could delete them but running PE Builder the next time results in the same errors ;-( I have also deleted everything and reinstalled BartPe, UBCD4WIN and the Drivers but I had no success. Any other idea. will it be a problem to use the OS CD that is coming with the DELL computers we are using and can only be used on DELL computers? Unfortunately i do not have any other WinXP CD handy. THX for your help, gogoK |

Your problem is probably because you are using the German version of XP.
BartPE is for the English Langauge version, although others have had success using other languages. See these threads. Thread 1 Thread 2 Thread 3 Thread 4 Thread 5 You may need to mod a few files to get it to work, if you do please post back with what do did to help others. THX stidyup,
I have had a look at these threads before but I thought having a little bit different problem than described in the mentioned threads as I couldn't create an ISO file at all. Anyway, I have swithced to an english version of WinXP and had to try out the AutoStream tool as SP2 has been missing. Great tool! Now I am stucked again as there are ocurring 4 new errors and the ISO file still isn't created =-8() Here are the errors : Error: SetupDecompressOrCopyFile "D:\XPCDSP2\WINXPSP2\i386\iastor.sys" to "D:\pebuilder313\BartPE\i386\system32\drivers\iastor.sys" returned error 2: Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden. DecompressOrCopy file "D:\XPCDSP2\WINXPSP2\i386\a320raid.sys" to "D:\pebuilder313\BartPE\i386\system32\drivers\a320raid.sys" Error: SetupDecompressOrCopyFile "D:\XPCDSP2\WINXPSP2\i386\a320raid.sys" to "D:\pebuilder313\BartPE\i386\system32\drivers\a320raid.sys" returned error 2: Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden. DecompressOrCopy file "D:\XPCDSP2\WINXPSP2\i386\aarich.sys" to "D:\pebuilder313\BartPE\i386\system32\drivers\aarich.sys" Error: SetupDecompressOrCopyFile "D:\XPCDSP2\WINXPSP2\i386\aarich.sys" to "D:\pebuilder313\BartPE\i386\system32\drivers\aarich.sys" returned error 2: Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden. DecompressOrCopy file "D:\XPCDSP2\WINXPSP2\i386\aac.sys" to "D:\pebuilder313\BartPE\i386\system32\drivers\aac.sys" Error: SetupDecompressOrCopyFile "D:\XPCDSP2\WINXPSP2\i386\aac.sys" to "D:\pebuilder313\BartPE\i386\system32\drivers\aac.sys" returned error 2: Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden. (the translation of the German part of the error message is quiet easy : 'can't find the files') Any ideas where I can get the files from as I can not find them on any WinXP CD. THX gogoK |

Are you using a Dell CD?
If so enable the Dellfix plugin via PEBuilder. By default it's turned off. [SourceDisksFiles] iastor.sys=4 a320raid.sys=4 aarich.sys=4 aac.sys=4 From the plugin, this should fix the problem, if it is enabled then disable it instead. |

I think I received similar messages in the past. I tried doing several different things but nothing worked, except a reboot. It made me think the files were "locked" by the OS, for some reason XP thought the files were still being used and wouldn't allow them to be deleted.
So it puzzles me that a reboot didn't work for you. You also need to disable the "Dell fix" plugin, that is why you are getting the NEW error. |

Yes, I enabled the DELLfix plugin before but may be as I am now using non DELL WinXP SP2 English may be I have to disable it?!? I will give it a try. But on th eother side, the errors are pointing to missing files and I do not know where to get these files as I can not find them in no version of WinXP I could have a look at. BFN gogoK |

I have encountered the same behavior and had to reboot before the files have been freed. But this problem with the undeletable files is gone since I have changed the language of WinXP. I am now using the english version and am missing some files (see my post above). Don't have any idea where they should come from. I will retry tomorrow with disabling the DellFix plugin. I was able to avoid these errors by building in Safe Mode.
