It looks like this is going to need a more complex plugin unless they make changes from the beta.

      rctext.dll
      rcimage.dll

Both of the above files will be needed, it appears these will be generated when AntiVir install and don't come with the setup file, well they don't with the beta.

I've also found that unlike the current release this needs installing to work. I hope they don't wreck a great scanner by making it dependant on reg entries before it will work...

let's wait for the final version, and then we make a plugin. ;)

I agree. I have very rarely included a beta in the project. Beta's can be unstable and you never know what will change in the final release. I hate having to spend time on something then have to spend even more time fixing it for the final version, it makes no sense. Since 6.x.x is still being updated and works we just need to stick with that for now.

I think I'll install it on one of my boy's computers to see how it looks and works.

Both of those files are in the install package. You can see them if you unpack it with WinRar. It looks like it will require some filters (avgio.sys and avgntflt.sys) to be installed via TXTSETUP.SIF....yuk!

Wasn't as bad as I thought. Still needs a crapload of registry keys though. I have the scanning working even though the gui says the real time service isn't running (it is).

I ditched trying to get real time scanning working (after all who needs realtime protection in a readonly environ?) and got it mostly working.

                Good points:
                Scan on demand is working
                Shell extension is working
                Configuration cpl is working
Registry is down to a min. (Main key, shellex key, and shed.exe service key)

                Bad points
No realtime scanning (really an issue?)
If you want to open the configuration .cpl you need to manually open it
If you want to schedule scans the scheduling service needs to be running.
Who names their scanner "Luke Filewalker"????

Next I suppose its time to see if updating is working (have to try that this weekend)

                Cheers

There are some assumptions made with this plugin

                      1. R: is the drive letter of the RAMDisk. If yours is different you'll have to change this
                      2. You've created an SFX archive of the contents of your install folder and called it AntiVirPEC.exe
                      3. This SFX (AntiVirPEC.exe) extracts its contents to R:\AntiVirPEC
                      4. The shell extension will only work if you are using an explorer plugin.
                      5. To start the scheduler service you'll need to type the following into a command window
                      net start antivirscheduler

                      6. I don't know if the update feature works yet (no way to try until I get home this weekend)
                      7. I use an explorer plugin, so I don't have any XML menu entry.
                      8. You need to have Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\

                      Here's the plugin:
                      ; antivirpec7.inf
