This is an update for Antivir 7 PE that address's the expired license issue with the plugin released with the UBCD4Win v3. This extends the license to May 31, 2007. It also allows the users to create a new plugin later from within UBCD4Win should the need arise. Replace the current AV7PE folder after unziping the following.
http://www.comphub.n...in/AV7PE_v3.zip
Not for use for later or earlier versions of UBCD4Win.

I downloaded this, and it fixes the expired problem for now. It still expires on Nov 30 though and not Feb 28. Confused here.
It sounds like you didn't completely remove the older AV7PE folder... and then replace it with this one. Of couse you will need to rebuild the ISO and either test in a Virtual Machine or burn a new CD.

It appears that the download didn't get the latest files included or got accidently switched with the earlier fiels... but run the plugin update that is also available in the menu itself... copy the AV7PE.exe that gets created back to your plugin directory replacing the current one and that should update the required files until the next release can be created.

I would assume that you are referring to any later release that mignt be released in the future, or did I miss something and there is a later release already?
All right, all right. I'm just being dumb. I could answer that question in about three seconds if I wanted to.
If every one will just ingore this question, then I won't have to ignore your answers.

Ignore this post since you could figure it out already....
@All others...
Currently many of the antispyware and antivirus programs use both download.exe and unzip to get and uncompress the update files... to save some space, the next UBCD4Win will all use a common set of files where it is possible so their CMD files etc will take that into account.

I thought Antivir PE was free for personal use. Why does it expire? That means one can through away the Boot-CD after February or what?

The plugin available from the link that DOkx quoted is our most current plugin for Avira. If the version on your system is saying it's expired then delete it and download this newer one.
We are really not sure why some versions of software expire? Avira just started doing this earlier this year. While I try to contact and create "relationships" with the authors of software included in the project, it is not always possible. Most of the time I receive 1 or 2 line responses (if that) when I contact people and/or companies. They must have some reason for doing this and I doubt that if we request they not do it that they would change their software just for us. It's kind of annoying, but I guess just a minor side effect from utilizing freeware??

Besides... don't know about you, but I service computers with UBCD discs that don't always have readily available internet connections... So how long is any particular single disc good for anyway? Aren't alot of project users somewhat regularly burning 'updated' discs? I'm sure that come february, someone will throw up an updated Avira plugin that will be good for another few months after that... or you can go download the full Avira install and rebuild a plugin on your own.

The latest plugin, if you update to it, has a feature that allows you to rebuild the plugin from within UBCD4Win... and if you read the instructions it gives you... you can then use the updated file to build new versions from in the event that the expiration issue happens ( about Feb for instance ). Then it will be good again for another few months. Of course its still good to do the other updates and rebuild more often so you can have the latest definition updates also.

No offence, but I sure was a bit annoyed. My comp had a virus, I discovered the UBCD, built it according to the HowTo - just to discover that the Antivir had expired....anyway, it's free, you get what you pay for...
