Hello,
I have a registered version of Directory Opus 9 (latest is v9.0.0.8), this is a very powerful file manager that can be used alone as a shell (in my opinion and many others, the best file manager for windows ever seen). Read a very good review in pictures and videos here. The problem is I copyied the program folder and settings to the appropriate places on the CD, but every time it tell me certificate is inavlaid, and I have to register the application every run. Does anyone have a solution for this problem or made a plugin for this progra? thanks in advance. |

Ah, yes...plugins There are several ways to make this work, to many to mention... Have you included registry settings? When booted, try to dump the registry, run the application register the application, dump the registry again compare the differences? include difference in next build -------------------- "To do nothing at all is the most difficult thing in the world, the most difficult and the most intellectual” Oscar Wilde" “No question is so difficult to answer as that to which the answer is obvious.” George Bernard Shaw “Endurance is one of the most difficult disciplines, but it is to the one who endures that the final victory comes.” Buddha 10 plugins here, just started to add... |

This new version dowsn't use the registryty to store config. It uses xml files. I already monitored the app, and founf out that it creates a file named dopus.cert in user profile at registration. So, i'm still confused how to proceed? |

it creates a file named dopus.cert in user profile at registration. So, i'm still confused how to proceed? So, when booted from cd and when you register, this file "dopus.cert" is created? copy this file and place it in the \plugin\File\Explorers\yournameforthisplugin folder then in the .inf file you have to add some text under [SourceDisksFiles] dopus.cert=a,,1 then when you start the program from the booted cd you first have to have the file copied to correct location so that it is present when the program starts you can do that with a .bat-file or a .cmd-file for a tip on how to do that, have a look at the \plugin\AntiSpyware\Spybot\spybot.cmd

Does this mean that you do not have an .inf-file nor a nu2menu_xml-file either? @msaeed I just installed the program and it adds alot to the registry, are you sure it does not need those settings? @msaeed I just installed the program and it adds alot to the registry, are you sure it does not need those settings? It was confirmed by the authors it no longer uses the registry (as of v9.0), what you see are the entries required for integeration (replacing explorer, ftp, zip, ...) that you can disable. |

you start the .bat-file or .cmd , which copy the cert-file to its location, and starts the program, everything is ok? you then make changes/change settings, and you get this notice about registering? -------------------- "To do nothing at all is the most difficult thing in the world, the most difficult and the most intellectual” Oscar Wilde" “No question is so difficult to answer as that to which the answer is obvious.” George Bernard Shaw “Endurance is one of the most difficult disciplines, but it is to the one who endures that the final victory comes.” Buddha 10 plugins here, just started to add... |

I mean by changes those made to the ISO by adding/removing programs to the build not those made to directory opus itself. |

so you are opening up the iso and then you add files?

ok... well, I have made a plugin for it and it almost works, but since I do not have a license for it I cannot do a proper test. I have the 30 day trial version and a popup window appears at certain intervals encouraging the user to buy a license I do not think the setting changes has anything to do with the program asking for a license. (my amateur opinion) This post has been edited by bengt: Sep 13 2007, 04:25 PM -------------------- "To do nothing at all is the most difficult thing in the world, the most difficult and the most intellectual” Oscar Wilde" “No question is so difficult to answer as that to which the answer is obvious.” George Bernard Shaw “Endurance is one of the most difficult disciplines, but it is to the one who endures that the final victory comes.” Buddha 10 plugins here, just started to add... |

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
The problem is that the program has a different reaction if it's registered, and if you use a trial version, I don't know what'll happen after 30 days. The point anyway is that I have a licensed version and should be able to use it the right way. I contacted the authors and they were not helpful. highly appreciate your help |

@msaeed
I'm also a registered user of Directory Opus, and faced the same problem as you described. Actually, the problem is that DOpus ties the cerificate created with volume info. I've ovecome this problem by creating a loader that looses this relation and allows me to run exported-to-usb version from any patition and from CD/DVD media. IMO, this loader is not illegal because it allows me to achieve compatibility between DOpus and my environment without modifing its binaries or bypasses it registration scheme, however, I'll respect forums policy, and won't link to it here, so if you're interested pm me with your e-mail and I'll send it to you.
