Hi all,

First, I'm sory for my ... 'french' english (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) ...

So ..., I started with WinPE by using the UBCD4Win, but also wanted to see the original BartPE and compare.
BartPE is more light but don'nt include all of the usefull plugins that are available in UBCD4Win.
To understand how work the CD, I decide to rebuild one from the base of a BartPE including one after one each plugin by hand made.
I'm very close to the gaol, but I'm sill blocked by one point :

In the UBCD4Win it's possible to use the DiskManager (diskmgmt.msc using mmc.exe), but I can'nt make it working in BartPE, I'm quiet sure that i nead to enable a windows service, but weach one ?

I made a plubin named 'console' and put inside :
- console.inf, console_menu.xml
- diskmgmt.msc, mmc.exe, mmc.chm, mmcbase.dll

When I want to run the programm inside BartPE, I have'nt any error but the programm don't start ...

It will be very nice, if you can help me to make it work fine.

hummm, in fact it works fine with vmware and with my home PC.
But the diskmanager doesn't work on my laptop (DELL D620), I don't know about the other msc files.
The only difference I found is that the Dell D620 uses a SATA hard drive, and my home PC use IDE.

should I use specific drivers for the SATA on my laptop? If yes, where can I find it?

many thanks for your future answer

Yes, you need specific drivers for the SATA !

Why not use the ubcd4win V3.06 Version???
It has all you need ! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

So after a update of the Network drivers, I can use the 2 network adapters of my Dell 620, and now I use the DiskManager ...
In fact the error was a failure in connecting the RPC server. So it's OK now.

But you should be right, for using much than the basic bartpe. The aim of this project is to provide to network technician some tools for network troubleshouting. I have to enable the COM1, it works fine with my home PC, but not with the Dell 620. I will try with a full XPE plugin ...

But The COM1, if the last thing I nead for successfull the CD.
