Same problem as before it can not find the .sys file. Very annoying since it is in the same folder.

Well Asus driver use a subfolder. Expand driver again.
    .\txtsetup.oem
    .\WinXP\fasttx2k.sys

O.K. I changed the directory to exactly match the one on my motherboard cd and dropped it into the "...drivers\SCSI" folder.

      So path is "...drivers\SCSI\Promise\378raid\winXP".

The txtsetup.oem file is in the 378Raid folder and other files are in winXP folder.

      The Build completed!!!

It also had the same 3 warnings I always get in STEP 95: Build ISO

      They are:
Warning: Creating filesystem that does not conform to ISO-9660.
      Warning: Creating ISO-9660:1999 (version 2)filesystem.
Warning: ISO-9660 filenames longer than 31 may cause buffer overflows in the OS.

However it did create the ISO and created the UBCD4WinBuilder Log

Not worried about that since I got those warnings on all the ones that were usable. I just wanted to pass along the info incase it is usefull somewhere else.

I have to leave now but I will burn the ISO into a cd and boot it later. I'll let you know if I am able to see the missing drives then.

      Thanks a bunch. :D

For some weird reason I can't get the iso to burn into a usable cd. When I build project I select to save iso to a file and then burn it with another program. Which has worked until now. However, when I burn a cd now it puts a copy of the iso file on the disk as though it were just another file. It won't boot and I have to manually mount it with Daemon tools from the cd. By the way the disk "Burned Successfully" and Finalized.

        Any ideas?

        Oh!
No, I haven't tried to burn straight to cd yet because I wanted a backup copy of the iso.

        Thanks!

Thanks, that worked like a charm. Although, in my haste I picked up a DVD-R instead of a CD. No problem other than it runs slower on my drive. By the way I am posting this message from the dvd drive! Woo hoo!

Now, I checked the disk manager and the two missing drives are still missing. :wall:So, I went into device manager and found under "Ports (com and lpt)" two devices with yellow question marks. I also found under "Other Devices", 57 devices with yellow question marks

One of them is labeled "RAID Controller" but I am not sure if it is for SATA or IDE. The motherboard is supposed to allow both RAIDS to be built at the same time (though I have not used the IDE one.)

Many of the yellow question marks also have yellow exclamation points on top of them. (The RAID controller has just question mark no exclamation point.)

Any other way to tell if the drivers I went to so much trouble to build into the project are actually there?

            Thanks

O.K. I checked in another way and found what I think is the driver.

I right clicked on the RAID Controller icon and went to Properties and clicked on the driver tab and saw:

              Driver provider: Unknown
              Driver date: Unknown
              Driver version: Unknown
              Driver signer: Not digitally signed

Then I pressed the Driver details button and found:

              Driver files:
              X:\I386\system32\drivers\fasttx2k.sys

              Provider: Promise Technology, Inc.
              File version: 1.00.1.30
              Copyright: 1996-2003
              Signed: Not Digitally Signed

So then I went to the Details TAB under properties and found:
              Hardware ID's
              PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_3373&SUBSYS_80F51043&REV_02
              PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_3373&SUBSYS_80F51043
              PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_3373&CC_010400
              PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_3373&CC_0104

              Devnode Flags
              DN_DRIVER_LOADED
              DN_STARTED
              DN_DISABLEABLE

Clicking on the Resourses tab showed there were no conflicts.
                general tab showed:

                ...Working properly

That is all I can think of to check. Let me know if you need other data and how to gather it.

                Thanks again

                  Hmm just checking in.

Maybe I'll try rebuilding the project again using the unedited version of the oemsetup.txt file. Unless you guys have a better idea :)

OK Does anyone know what a miniport driver is?

I downloaded what I think is the newest version of my Array driver and the description in the readme file is:

I looks to me like this wants to set up a diskette. Will this give UBCD4Win project any trouble? Should I use this download or look for something else?

Well driver Version V1.00.1.30 2003/06/30. Didn't you tried this driver from 2003 already?

I've the impression, correct driver is loaded already.
But there is no drive, because of broken SATA Raid.
You may have to fix SATA Raid first. Sorry, no idea about that.

So you think the RAID controller may be going bad?
Any test utilities for that in the project?

                            No, I wondered:
If RAID array is broken already, windows dosn't mount drive.
The controller itself seems to work.

You may have to fix software RAID configuration. As said, no idea about fixing that.

So you think the RAID controller may be going bad?

                              No, I wondered:
If RAID array is broken already, windows dosn't mount drive.
The controller itself seems to work.

You may have to fix software RAID configuration. As said, no idea about fixing that.

I see. So, maybe I need to find something that will mount the drives before windows loads.

Well, thank you folks for all the help you have given getting my CD built. It looks like it can be very useful if I have a problem with my single drives.
