In Topic: Dr Web Cureit Will Not Run
Posted 2 Feb 2010
I have had the same problem, I think its because Dr Web Just updated Cureit. Prior to this update it worked fine for me.
See this link: DR Web updated cureit beta
I asked the people at DR web and they said they did update the regular cureit as well as the beta version. Im currently trying to get either one to work with my build I will let everyone know if and when I figure it out.
thanks John -
In Topic: Time To Boot From Cd?
Posted 17 Jan 2010
Well im not sure then. One time my computer would hang at the same spot your does and then when rebooted it would work. This ended up being my motherboard was going bad. Sorry the only advice I have is something in the hardware or like mbarnes says about the bootsector. Good luck finding the issue.

There are several different possibilities. First of all it will take a little longer to boot because all the info is being transferred from CD to ram instead of the hd to ram. However we are talking minutes not hours. How much ram does the computer have? How many plugins are enabled? How fast is the cdrom drive?
Any of these things can speed up or slow down the process.
I have an old laptop with 1.5 ghz 512meg ram and I timed the entire process to 6 minutes. -

Do you have a license for these programs? That is the main reason they are not included in the build. I have a nod32 stand alone version I use, but thats all.
