Any chance of seeing the best defrag tool JKDefragGUI featured in the next version of UBCD4Win?

    Thanks
  2. manual cloning windows

    Posted 5 Apr 2008

    That`s what I have done:
    1. installed windows on hd 0
    2. plug in a second hd, started gparted and created a partition and activated it (boot flag)
    3. booted with ubcd4win and did copy all from the old hd to the new hd
    4. used the fixmbr tool from ubcd4win

Now the copy of windows is starting but it hangs before the login screen. Also save booting hangs at the same point.

I am not looking for some cloning tool but I need to understand what going on.
  3. How to install a normal/real Windows Xp to usb hd?

    Posted 30 Mar 2008

    (Yes, normal xp, no bartpe.)
I am sure my computer can boot from usb (had already ubcd4win and linux on usb).

Are there any tools to convert my normal windows xp install cd to an install cd which also works for installing on usb harddisks then?

I already found some instructions but I tested them and seamed to mess up something. Kinda to complicated for me. Maybe this is offtopic here. But I hope here are people with expertise how may know if there are any tools to make this process a bit more easy.

Any chance to get an plugin?
  5. adding VMware tools to ubcd4win

    Posted 30 Mar 2008

I am testing my ubcd4win a lot in VMware before I burn it and use it for real.

Therefore I often wish that VMware tools would be active while testing it. Them greatly improve mouse and resolution support.

What about a plugin for that?
