Topics I've Started
Posted 6 Oct 2009@ Steel and all others in control:
It is with great thought and consideration that I must tender my resignation from the beta testers team. As you can see, I have not been active at all recently mostly due to my new job that I can not discuss. So if you could kindly remove my status from the beta testers and place as a contributing member (I have donated in the past but we could not communicate properly then for some reason) it would be greatly appreciated.
I would have posted in the Beta section but alas I do not have new topic creation capabilities.
I will try to remain active to some extent giving advice and forwarding my plugin for PC Guardian to those who request it. But I can not see myself becoming a productive member in the foreseeable future.
Thank you and it has been fun!!
If and when I am online in a fashion that I can hang out in IM's, I am redbaron7734 on AIM.
Posted 26 Jun 2008A new version of Proccess monitor located HERE combine functionality of Filemon and Regmon to create a very unique and powerful tool.
From the main site:
Process Monitor is an advanced monitoring tool for Windows that shows real-time file system, Registry and process/thread activity. It combines the features of two legacy Sysinternals utilities, Filemon and Regmon, and adds an extensive list of enhancements including rich and non-destructive filtering, comprehensive event properties such session IDs and user names, reliable process information, full thread stacks with integrated symbol support for each operation, simultaneous logging to a file, and much more. Its uniquely powerful features will make Process Monitor a core utility in your system troubleshooting and malware hunting toolkit.
Posted 23 Oct 2007What would people suggest as their favorite firewall? I am looking for a free FW to replace the aging but never failing favorite of mine, Sygate Personal FW. As it is no longer around, I am scared that maybe there is no more updates etc. What would people suggest other than ZA. I liked SPF due to how granular I could make rules and accesses. I need this level of granularity. It also needs to block not only incoming but also keep stuff from getting out. (yes I am paranoid and I use XP and won't let my system talk to M$ for anything)
Posted 11 Jun 2007Yes that is right, Apple is producing there next version of Safari the OSX only browser fro both the OSX and Windows XP/Vista. It is currently under Public Beta and is free to download and use.

QuoteMarch 15, 2007 (Computerworld) -- Windows Vista can be run for at least a year without being activated, a serious end run around one of Microsoft Corp.'s key antipiracy measures, Windows expert Brian Livingston said today.
Livingston, who publishes the Windows Secrets newsletter, said that a single change to Vista's registry lets users put off the operating system's product activation requirement an additional eight times beyond the three disclosed last month. With more research, said Livingston, it may even be possible to find a way to postpone activation indefinitely.
Yet more evidence that M$ really has blown it with Vista. Almost makes me want to give it a try. Not that I do anything illegal with piracy...
