I downloaded the ISO file, burnt it to a CD, but it doesn't boot.
I haven't tried them yet, but the files seems OK.
Do I have to download the whole CD to get it to work (3 hours+ for me!), or can it be 'repaired' and burnt to a new CD?

I think your talking about the original
ultimate bootcd which you downloaded from here? You can't download a ubcd4win as that would be illegal due to the fact it would be distributing M$ code.
If so you've posted in the wrong forum, but I'll leave it here until you reply back.
When you burnt the ISO did you burn it as a data CD or did you select burn image?
When you look at the CD in windows what do you see ****.iso or do you see folders? If you see ****.iso you've done it wrong. Select burn image from whatever cd burning program you are using.

stidyup is right. These forums are mainly for support for the Ultimate Boot CD 4 Windows, though we try to help with the original UBCD as well. Do as he suggested above and then let us know. Until then,

I think I made a mistake, and I think I have worked it out. Tell me if I am right.
The file I downloaded was UBCD4Win. Looking at it again I wouldn't expect it to boot. It is a set of utilities that I could add to a bootable CD, Right?
So I need to set things up myself with my own Windows disk? All I got with my computer was a rescue disk, not the generic Windows XP disk. Will that work?
Finally, most importantly, can someone point me to someplace with a step-by-step set of instructions what to do to build a UBCD4Win? As you see next to my name, I am a newbie!! I have heard of Bart, but haven't had the time to do the hard work of learning all about it.
Thanks to both of you,

Go to the main site,
http://www.ubcdwin.com , and visit the How to Build section and other places if needed. If you have any problems, please post back here again. Thanks.

Thanks, LittlBUGer.
Success is mine.
I have another problem, now, but I think I will start another thread.

Glad you got it to work. If the other problem is different than another one, I thank you in advance for having proper forum etiquette. I am closing this topic now since you have been successful. I look forward to helping you fix your new issue. Well, I didn't directly help you with this issue, my Mod's did but I'm sure I will have time to get to this new problem.
