Full Version: Zenwalk Plugin

I downloaded the knoppix plugin, and tried modifying it to work with Zenwalk, and then got a little lost. Some of it is similar, and some of it is not so easy to understand. I have been searching around trying to find documentation on creating the plugin myself, but have had little success. As far as I can tell Zenwalk is a Slackware variant, so if somebody has even just a plugin that works with Slackware that might help too. By the by I have worked up a quick and dirty modification to the Ubuntu plugin that makes it work for gOS if anyone is interested. I just need somewhere to host it. Thanks to everyone that is working so hard on this project, I have used UBCD4win for a couple of years, and am now wanting to go beyond the defaults.

I have been messing around with gOS for the past few weeks and was wondering if someone was working on a plugin for UBCD4WIN! Good to hear you had success with getting it to work. Unfortunately, I have no hosting, but whenever you get it hosted, or if you want someone else to try it out, let me know.

Be Glad to send it to you... I don't have any local hosting so I will try and post it on Rapidshare as soon as my other box comes back online. Doing backups...

@Dread Ire

I made a plugin for ZenWalk Live 4.8.

You can download it here:
http://mysite.verizon.net/hartsec/plugins/zenwalk.zip

Just extract it into the multiboot plugin folder and then configure.

Cheers

Thanks, I made a couple of changes to support Zenwalk Standard 5.0. I have posted it here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/102174303/zenwalk50.zip.html
I also added a check to see if the files had already been downloaded and then skip re downloading unless it fails the md5, then it deletes them and re downloads.

Thanks for the hard work.

Nice. Knew there was bound to be some stuff I forgot to put in the configure.bat file, . I've been waiting for them to get v5 of the live cd out. According to their forums it shouldn't be that much longer. Of course they said that 2 weeks ago too. biggrin.gif

Cheers

I made a goof in the INF files, I have fixed them and re uploaded the file. This is for Zenwalk 5.0 Standard, its the install only version not live CD yet sad.gif. But its good for when you need to roll out a Linux dev to a VM or a HDD and don't want to carry another CD with you... Here is the new link:

I have updated Jotnar's plugin for Zenwalk Live 5.0 that was just released. Here it is:

http://rapidshare.com/files/102685206/zenw...ive_50.zip.html

FYI I have disabled the md5 check on the ISO for this plugin and also for the 5.0 Standard plugin from before. The ISO's I had downloaded previously were failing their check and being redownloaded. I have tried several different MD5 files but I couldn't get one to work, so I just disabled the check for the ISO. If you want to reenable it just open the configure.bat in notepad and remove the "REM statement from in front of the MD5 check line for the ISO.

:: Compute MD5 checksum to check for corrupt download
:checksum
echo Checking MD5 Checksum
REMOVE THIS --> rem <-- tools\md5sum.exe -c zenwalk-live-5.0.iso.md5
if errorlevel 1 goto corrupt
tools\md5sum.exe -c syslinux-3.61.zip.md5
if errorlevel 1 goto corrupt

Cheers.
