Hello all,

I have been reading for about 4 hours now. I successfully built the UBCD4Win and it works great. The only problem I have is I am confused on the Driver Packs and how to add more drivers as needed. I specifically need to get a driver for my Dell E1705 wireless card. Can any point me in the right direction?

Also which of the DriverPacks are supported as a plugin for UBCD4Win?

Currently, the DriverPacks.net drivers only support the MassStorage drivers and not the LAN drivers. LAN driver support will come later after addressing issues that were found trying to integrate the DP's currently available.

For now drivers for the lan drivers are added by adding them to the [UBCD4Win]\drivers\Net ... within that folder you will see the other brands and versions currently available. To add additional drivers, create a new folder for the card you have and place its files within that folder... then rebuild.

Is it possible to just extract the WLan Drive pack and add the folders to the drivers\net folder for UBCD4Win?

You can certainly try but you will have unreliable results since they aren't made to be used in that manner

Okay I got the wireless to work. When I start the wireless network service, it prompts me for two files needed on the xpsp2 cd. I can navigate to the files I need, but is there a way to keep from doing that each time? Files promted for are Ndisuio.sys and WZCSVC.DLL.

The WZCSVC.DLL should be in the build already... on the CD it would be found in the i386\SYSTEM32 folder and the NDISUIO.SYS file should be in i386\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS ... if they don't exist on the CD you created... your Windows source may be missing them.

The Windows source files should be from a standard Windows install CD ( preferably one you copy to your hard drive to avoid drive read errors ).

The WZCSVC.DLL is in the i386\SYSTEM32 folder and the NDISUIO.SYS file in is i386\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS on the UBCD4Win build, the wireless network service when started defaults to a:\I386 instead of the correct windows folder that is why I have to navigate to it for the two needed files. The question I guess is why does it look to the a:\i386?

In the default build... it doesn't look in that folder. So if you've added other plugins to the build or made other changes... disable them and test again.
