Hi, I am new here and I just want to say that at first look UBCD4win is great and very handy. I am a Novice hoping to take the A+ exams soon. My problem is that I have a Netgear WG11v2 Wireless adapter and When I boot from UBCD I have no connect to the net. I suspect it is because the net drivers for my adapter aren't included? My question is how can I add the correct driver? Do I have to add it to the build, or can I install it after booting from the UBCD? And how do I do this?

Hello. To add the drivers, it seems when you run the installation program from here ( http://kbserver.netgear.com/release_notes/d103263.asp ), it installs the drivers to C:\Program Files\Netgear\ . Get the drivers (should be 3 files---.cat, .inf, .sys) and place them into a new folder in your UBCD4Win build such as: C:\<ubcd4winbuildfolder>\drivers\Net\ . Then rebuild the CD and try it out.

Did you turn on the Wireless Service? I ran into the same issue in the past. Once you activate the wireless services, you're usually good to go.

Okay, I tried turning on the wireless network srvices since that seemed the easiest. That didn't do it so now I am trying to build again. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it.

Iknow this is probably a stupid question, but do I need to uninstall ubcd4win completely to build again, or can I just run it from the programs menu? The reason I askis that I just tried to do just that and I got the same iso to burn as before ( still with no WG111v2 drivers). If you can bear with me I appreciate it.

You need to run the builder again and completely rebuild the .iso file and burn it to a new CD. I never use the menu items, I always run it manually so I couldn't be sure how to do it via the Start Menu.

I ran the builder again and this time when it got to the screen where it lets you add manually I gave it the path to the folder on the desktop where the driver files were located and it found them but when I go to Device manager indicates that there is a problem with the device. But it is giving me the rightname and model and the light on the adapter is lit whereas it was not before. Any suggestions?

You don't need to add the files manually. Follow the directions given earlier by LittBUGer on where to place the files. The builder will find them automatically if you put them in \Drivers\Net.
