When booting UBCD it gets to the point where it asks if I want to start network support and freezes. No key press seems to do anything! I built from a XP SP1a CD. I did not slipstream, but I enabled/disabled the reccomended options for building from and SP1 source.

I think you mean UBCD4Win... UBCD is a DOS based boot CD that is a completely different project.


Try the MEMTEST from the original boot menu... let it complete at least one pass of all of the tests. If any bad memory is found it will list it in red..

I did mean UBCD4Win, sorry about the misunderstanding. I have run memtest, and no errors have come up.
