I would like to network my pc with my sons so I can back up the files I have managed to recover (thanks to your awsome ubcd4windows) to his hdd.

Before my pc went belly up both pc's were networked but now when I boot into the ubcd enviroment it wont detect my ethernet adapter?

The adapter is a Attansic L1 Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000BAse-T Controller

Its in the device manager as working but cant be detected by the network wizard or any of the network software.

What would be the best way to back up a good 50-75gig of data?

cheers

That is odd since there are already drivers for that... perhaps yours is a customised version in which case replace the ones in the [UBCD4Win]\drivers\Net\Attansic\L1_Giga folder with ones made specifically for your hardware.

Probably a USB attached hard drive since there is a lot of data. The drive would need attached before you boot the UBCD4Win project so it will get enumerated.

Thanks for the feedback.

Now when you say replace the drivers in the [UBCD4Win]\drivers\Net\Attansic\L1_Giga folder with the ones of the mobo disc, I would then need to do another build yes?

I have tried updating the drivers from a usb but it says that the current drivers are the best drivers for that harware, the adapter is recognised by other utils just not the networking ones.

I"ll try to replace the drivers andsee how that goes.

cheers
