There appears to be a error on the ubcd4win homepage. It's ok on winxp sp2, there's just a error dialog box bottom right of screen.

However on one of the win2k pcs I'm just updating you get a runtime error line meunitem1 is undefined.

It appears anyone viewing the homepage on anything other than winxp sp2 (others may display ok but can't check) can't access the site, it just keeps the error message there and you can't do a damm thing.

I've got 2 2k PC's, I'll fire them up quick. What browser are you using? That may be what the real problem is. I've got IE and firefox on both of them. I'll check it out in a few minutes.

EDIT:
Oops, the other one doesn't have a NIC card in it, can't connect to the net. Took it out after I finished updating everything. Not going to connect with the modem.

Firefox and IE checkout ok on my 2k system.

It was using IE6 on Win2K fully patched.

Seems IE specific, mozilla firefox doesn't have any problems.

I'm getting

From xp PC IE error.
Line36
char7
error menuitem1 is undefined
code0
url:www.ubcd4win.com

Langauge setting??

Getting it on 2 PC's, i'll check another in a minute

Have you visited the site on those system before?? Could be bad files in the cache. Try refreshing it a few time. I'm going to load DreamWeaver to see what exactly are on those lines of code.

Ok, just to get you even more excited.

Just tried it on a win98 PC never been on ubcd4win before and it displayed OK with IE but again bottom left of screen there was the nice error icon.

I've got a virgin win2k system I'll try it on in a minute, I'll post back with what happens.

If any members wish to try the main site please post what you find.

The only thing the PC's in this dept have in common is that yours truly set them all up blink.gifwacko.gifsmile.gif

Displays fine on my fedora core no error messages appearing.

Just tested on one of the other win2k pc's and it displayed ok but with the error message bottom left, but the error code 35 which was on the other machine didn't appear, it was just the error 36.

I've also tried visiting the page from another win2k PC which is on another network and not set up by me and that displayed ok but again had the error bottom left of page.

So not quite sure what to suggest.

Could be the error 35 is a rare occurance on specific PC's with certain settings, but the error 36 error is appearing on every other windows PC i've looked at the site with.

smile.gifHi,

I have had this 'Error on Page' showing for some time now, it came a while back after I did a Windows update which included one for IE6.

I have been ignoring it as it seems to be an issue with IE6.

Thanks appreciate that, once I have a little more time I'll test that to see how it works. I really need an HTML, script, CSS, and whatever else for DUMMIES book. Really wouldn't matter though, with my busy schedule I would probably never get around to reading it. rolleyes.gif

looks like its working in home to me, hopefully to everyone else too. Now you just need to find the time to do the rest of the files using those.

one thing i forgot to mention
CODE
<body onmousemove="closesubnav(event);">

when removed replace with
CODE
<body>

Did think you would have realised that, but never mind.
