Hi Guys,
Great site and forum.
I'm using an emachine and don't have a Win XP CD. My system has been updated to Service Pack 2 (via Windows Update), but the files in my C:\WINDOWS\i386 folder are still the originals that came pre-installed (I think it's SP1).
When I run AutoStreamer (v 1.0.28 - downloaded from this site) I choose the Share option for my windows files. I've tried setting the share location as C:, C:\WINDOWS, and C:\WINDOWS\I386, but each time it leaves the Operating System, Build and Size as Unknown, and so I can't click the next button.
I've also tried copying the contents of the C:\WINDOWS\I386 folder to C:\I386, but still no joy.
Am I doing something wrong, or is it a problem with using an OEM install of WinXP.
Thanks in advance.

You should first download the latest version of AutoStreamer which is 1.0.30 (or maybe higher now), then let us know how that goes. It fixes many things so maybe it'll solve your problem. The link for that should also be on the download page.

I downloaded AutoStreamer 1.0.30 from the link on the downloads page, and when I run the program and click on about, it says it's version 1.0.28. The link points to the zip file called AutoStreamer.zip. I noticed the link to version 1.0.29 was called AutoStreamer1029.zip, so I guessed that 1.0.30 was called AutoStreamer1030.zip. Typed that in the address bar and it's now downloaded version 1.0.30.
However having said that, it still gives me the same problem of not recognizing the OS for the files in my I386 folder.

I have a similar problem - not recognising my OEM install. Anybody any ideas please ?

OEM version of XP (say like from Dell or Gateway or something) are tricky because they customize them and go off standard compared to the normal XP CDs straight from MS. This sometimes confuses software that needs files from those installations so you may not ever get it to work.
I would first suggest downloading the latest version of AutoStreamer (1.0.33) and then try pointing it to your C:\i386 folder. If you don't have that folder, then I doubt you have any installation files on your HD from a OEM XP CD (and no they aren't in your Windows folder). If that doesn't work, then you may be out of luck to slipstream your OS installation to make a CD, unless you go a get a regular XP CD and do it from there. Sorry. :-\

Thanks for the update. I've downloaded the latest version and pointed it at my i386 folder but still nothing I'm afraid - anybody any other ideas ?
