Ive been trying to figure out how to add floppy images to the build. I know you have to add a reference to them in the custom.scn file, but for the life of me I just cant get it right. Everytime I think Ive edited it right and rebuild the iso and boot to it it throws an error when i select the program that i added. Ive got the images in the images folder, I used Floppyimage to create them and there .imz files. I need someone to explain plainly how to do the editing in the custom.scn file to get the programs to run right. In the actions section of the file theres ex: memdisk, bcdw, chain, script, etc. and then the program that should run. Well I dont know what does what and which one i should type for the program I want to add. Please help me and give before and after examples of edited custom.scn files. Its driving me crazy!

thanks!

Ouch, can't help you with this one. I'm not familiar with customizing the "Original" UBCD. I've been too busy with this project to have time to play with customizing UBCD.

Digi, or Littl should hopefully been on the board soon, they are usually on and off throughout the day and know about this stuff. I suggest you checkout this post in the meantime, it might be able to help you:

After I have noticed that you have read this post, I will be moving it to the appropriate category. This post should have been placed in the "Original" Ultimate Boot CD Support category. You are a newbie to the forum so don't worry about me being upset, just please post more carefully in the future.

What I think the problem is right off the bat is how you are creating the floppy images. When you use Floppy Image, go into the Settings, and check the box next to "Create compatible IMG files..." to be able to make working images (which should have the .img extension). Then, like the link Steel provided above describes, you have to either use memdisk or diskemu for regular floppy boot disks. Which one you choose depends on which one works best (usually memdisk works fine, but sometimes diskemu is needed---can only find out by testing). So, by using the example in the link above from Steel, you can see how I edited it and added a few floppies and how it's supposed to work. If I've confused you here or my suggestions don't work, please let me know and reply. Thanks. smile.gif

If you download the latest isolinux/memdisk (2.13) then you can get rid of diskemu as 2.13 has support for WinME/XP boot floppy images.

Cheers
