I have created a series of batch files that download the latest avtivirus files/signature files like the one below:

del mwav.exe
WGET ftp://ftp.microworldsystems.com/download/tools/mwav.exe

or
del defs.zip
del defs.ref
WGET http://download.lavasoft.de.edgesuite.net/public/defs.zip
unzip -j defs.zip

When I run a command like unzip mwav.exe, I have to be handy to press "A". This command overrights all the appropiate files in that directory. I can add lines to the batch files like : del *.dll, del *.ini, etc.. I don't want to.

I really don't want to be at the machine.

What do I add the following comamnd so I don't have be at the machine as I want to run the command at 5:00 am.

so my batch file looks like this:
del mwav.exe
WGET ftp://ftp.microworldsystems.com/download/tools/mwav.exe
then I would add:
unzip -j mmav.exe

thanks

What files does it overwrite? If it's just files in one folder, can't you delete all files in that one folder before you unzip? Otherwise, I'm unfamiliar with the program you're using to unzip. If I knew, I could possibly help with what command line arguments it takes. Thanks. smile.gif

here is my finished script for one directory:

rename unzip.exe unzip.old
rename wget.exe wget.old
del *.exe
del *.dll
del *.hlp
del *.vxd
del *.ver
del *.txt
del *.idx
del *.wri
del *.win
del *.spw
del *.vdf
del *.fu0
del *.htm
del *.key
del *.ini
del *.sys
del *.cnt
del *.dat
rename wget.old wget.exe
wget http://www.avup.de/personal/en/avwinsfx.exe
rename unzip.old unzip.exe
unzip -j avwinsfx.exe

It does work.

Here is another script:

rename unzip.exe unzip.old
rename wget.exe wget.old
del *.exe
del *.dll
del *.avc
del *.bmp
del *.ex_
del *.txt
del *.xml
del *.inf
del *.set
del *.klb
del *.vnd
del *.avi
del *.lan
del *.key
del *.com
del *.ini
del *.dat
rename wget.old wget.exe
rename unzip.old unzip.exe
WGET ftp://ftp.microworldsystems.com/download/tools/mwav.exe
unzip -j mwav.exe

Question now:
If I link these scripts in a "third" script, how do change directory to make sure runs in the correct folder?

thanks
dhs13
Here is my lastest script. I download the files in one directory and then copy then to the other directories. I also make use of http://www.911cd.net as another CD that I build monthly.

Right now the script is work. I haven't included Sysclean or Mcafee.

Use unzip -j -o filename.exe

-j junks the file structure
-o will overwrite any existing files.

However if your wanting to use mwav this isn't a good idea because if you still have a old version that removes virus's you use the that exe with the updated defs and it will remove the virus's rather than telling you have a infected system. This worked the last time I tried it.
dhs13
Thanks for input. I will try it.

thanks

PS. Thanks also for RescueMe.
