All together I have about 2 GB of drivers and would like to add the NICs and a few others to my build. Do I just make a folder for each one and put them in the driver folder or is it more complicated them that?

I guess you can tell that I don't have a clue, but that's why I'm here. blink.gif

Please let me know what drivers you have as I would love to add them to the driver add-on. biggrin.gif

As for adding drivers yourself, you just need the main Win XP driver files for each NIC/Storage device and put them in their own folder inside pebuilder\drivers\Net or pebuilder\drivers\Storage . Storage drivers are a little more difficult as you have to edit the txtsetup.oem file and take out any references to OSes other than XP and 2K3, among other things. NICs are easier. smile.gif

And 2GBs of drivers!? How the heck did you get all of those? Do you have like 1 million devices to use the CD on? smile.gif

Well, I'm a 59 year old self taught computer repairman that works out of my home. I'm disabled, but can get around enough to earn a few bucks here and there.

I collect drivers of all sorts, because I make house calls and like to be able to fix any problems on the first visit. Whenever I run across a driver I add it to my collection, which is up to about 4 CDROMs worth so far.

Now, in saying that, as a software developer I am just learning, and if all I do is learn just a little about this stuff then I'm happy. Anyway, it sure can't hurt.

Give me an address and I'll burn the CDs and mail them to you.

LittlBUGer and I have been working very hard on the drivers. It takes a lot of time to modify the files. The only thing that frustrates me with the drivers is the fact I do not own and cannot confirm my work. I am pretty sure I am changing and removing the right things....but not being able to confirm it makes it rough. Several great people have helped by testing some of them so I'm pretty sure my thought process on modifying the information files for drivers is right on track with what needs to be done.

I really hope to have the time, doubt it, but I really hope to create a tutorial on how and what you need to modify when modifying a driver for BPE. Maybe I will have some free time to email you some basic pointers or something. Provide a few....this is the original, here is what I did examples, etc.

Maybe it's me but I cannot extract the beta driver downloaded exe for some reason. I though it may be corrupt so I downloaded the exe from the mirror site. I get error "program to large to fit in memory" when I try to extract the beta driver exe file. I am running XP PRO, I also tried booting from the UBCD4WIN CD and then tried extracting the exe I downloaded onto my C drive. Is there a zipped version? Any suggestions?

Never mind....I downloaded a fresh copy today and it extracted okay.
