Hello,

today I have build my first ubcd4win (ver 2.41, drivers 0.3). Everything has gone OK until I have tried it. At first all goes right .... windows logo is displayed, a light blue screen appears, so few seconds later the blue screen turns darker and appears next error message.

STOP: c000021a {fatal system error} The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000006 (0x00000000 0x00000000)
The system has been shut down.

I hope next week I will get a new computer(amd-64, nf4, pci-e...), so meanwhile my amazing personal system is a venerable 7 years old PII at 333MHz, with A-trend BX chipset MoBo, 2 x HDD (2,5G Maxtor, 9GB Fujitsu), 192MB of RAM (Bus at 66MHz), Toshiba CD ROM XM-6302B x32 (Boot cd-rom device), LITEON LTR-40125S CDRW burner, Iomega 100M ZIP via RS232(serial port).

The system is a dual boot Linux Knoppix 3.8 and windows 2000. It's used w32grub like boot manager to pick one or the other. Hd configuration is little tricky, but has always worked fine.

HD1: 2,5 GB Maxtor with 2 partitions (C:100MB FAT16 (active), Linux: 2,4GB ext3).
HD2: 9,5 GB Fujitsu with 3 partitions (D:5,12GB FAT32, E: 798M FAT32, F:3,61GB FAT32)

W2k boot manager points straight to w32grub S.O loader, which is placed in a subfolder in C: unit (first hd1 partition), on a FAT16 file system. Linux is placed in the partition nÂș 2 of hd1, and windows 2000 pro is installed in the third partition of second hd (F:). D:, E: and F: all are FAT32.

May be Windows XP doesn't like see active partition of first hard disk as FAT16... I really don't know what is wrong... sad.gif

To build ubcd4win I have used Windows Xp pro (SP2) Spanish Edition and removable media (CD-RW).

Any help should be greatly appreciated. biggrin.gif

Thank you very much,

Lin.

You didn't mention your video card. That could be a possibility for your problem. If you have onboard graphics (usually Intel) you may not be able to boot the CD on that system. I have a P3 system that refuses to boot any version of my project I've thrown at it (from 2.0 to the current 2.41). Others have reported issues with onboard graphics also. I've seen that stop error a few times when testing on my P2's and P3's, but that's only happened between versions when I was testing new tools for the project. Is it possible for your to try the CD on another system?
Other possiblilities could be, because of the language version of XP or a bad build. If you cannot get it to work on any other systems. Then I would suggest you go through the build process again in Bart's PE.

I would suggest it's either because of the language version of XP you are using or because you are using grup to dual boot like that (it's caused problems for other users as well). Other than that I'm not sure what it is. Hopefully someone else has some insight into the problem. smile.gif

Hi,

Execuse me, I had forgotten to say that my video card is an ancient ATI 3d range pro agp x2. Not an onboard one.

And unfortunately now I have not another system to try it. May be next week...

Next morning I will try to build a new on. I hope be more lucky.

Thanks,

Lin.

I came to this forum today to look up this c000021a error and came across this thread. I am also getting this error on one particular computer, and noting SteelTrepid's comment about onboard graphics, I see that this computer has the Intel 810 Graphics Controller integrated. mad.gifI am assuming that this is the issue.

Is there any way around this? If I add a video card to the system, will the UBCD ignore the onboard video?

Thanks in advance!

Michael

Two of many possibilities to consider:

Error Message Occurs When You Start Disk Management After Extending a Hardware Array

or

GoBack Causes a Stop Error C000021a

...

@brown705 yes if you add another graphics card the onboard graphics will be disabled.

If it still fails to boot tell us more about your hardware as it could be another problem.

Well have been trying to get this to work on my machine.
When i do the build with ubcd4win i would get all the way to the winxp window. Then when i do a bartpe build from scratch with a few extra's it work fine.

There is something not wuite right when building with the ubcd3win program.

I get the failure on a couple different types of machines.

I have seen the error "c000021a" also attributed to corrupt downloads and/or corrupt media. sad.gif
