Didn't see this covered anywhere...following your instructions, I slipstreamed an XP disc with SP2--figured SP2 was necessary since my target system to use this on is also SP2.
Upon running Bart PE, after I indicate the source and set up the image file name, I click build and am then told this:
Source Files Wrong Version
File version "E:\i386\ntdll.dll" is 5.1.2600.0 should be 5.1.2600.1045 or higher.
You must use XP Service Pack 1 or Server 2003 or higher!
I'm guessing this means my slipstream process failed, even though it failed to indicate any problem when I built the image file with AutoStreamer. Suggestions?

Which version of AutoStreamer did you use and what are the exact steps you took to slipstream? What were the steps you used with PEbuilder and whatnot? Getting into more detail should help. Thanks.

AutoStream 1.0.33
Did both the automatic build, and the auto build with interruption. I checked the temp directory just before image creation, and it appears that no part of the service pack was merged into the XP install files.
So, it's not a problem with Bart PE, it's AutoStreamer.
Steps using AutoStreamer:
1. start (running on XP sp2 system)
2. select "original windows CD" and check manual customize
3. click on magnifying glass next to windows cd drive--it recognized the CD fine.
4. browse to SP file--it analyzes the file for a few minutes, and then tells me it recognizes the SP2 patch.
5. I leave the temp folder as it is.
6. Click next, and away it goes.
7. When it pauses at the create image step, I check the version of ntdll.dll in the temp directory...lo and behold, it's the version from the CD, not the one from the service pack.

I would suggest copying your XP CD to a folder on your HD and pointing AutoStreamer there. I've never had a problem with it, so hopefully that fixes it. If your SP2 file is on a CD as well, I'd copy it to the HD first. Usually works better that way.

Did this work? I am having the same problem. I tried the suggested fix but was not successful. Any suggestions?

Try doing it in Safe Mode because sometimes Windows or other programs will lock/block files so things will not work properly. Also, what is your original XP CD? Is it a Dell or Gateway or anything?

Are you guys burning the ISO image created by AutoStreamer to a CD?

This is from the bartpe site as to why the message is appearing.

Q : I get the following message:
Source files wrong version?
File version <path>\i386\ntdll.dll is 5.1.2600.0 should be 5.1.2600.1106 or higher. What must I do?
A : You must slipstream your source Window XP files with service pack 1 (Or slipstream with SP2 - Stidyup).
Are you pointing bartpe at the slipstreamed location? The above error suggests it looking at WinXP with no sp1/sp2 slipstreamed.
