I made the UBCD4WIN iso, and put paragon hdm on there... because the whole reason for me doing this was to have something I could boot to to manage partitions and make drive images with without booting to the HD...

Anyway, the only 'plugin' that I have on this is paragon HDM... but every time I boot to this cd, it has problems restarting the 'ramdisk service'. I don't understand why that would be... is there a way I can manually start it back up if/when it does this?

I'm very new to UBCD4WIN by the way...so be gentle smile.gif

One thing I can say, THIS THING IS A NETWORK ADMINS DREAM come true just about... especially for us poor windows administrators! I'm gonna be following this for a long time I'm sure. biggrin.gif

I have both versions of Paragon's HDM6 on my PE disc (tech license which I have run from the RAMDrive, and Pro which runs from the CD), and have not experienced this error. On the other hand, I do not always play the "numbers" game (always having to have the latest version number), and my experience has been that newer versions of ramdriv.sys, nu2menu, and autoramresizer have introduced problems which then require new configurations/workarounds, while providing little if any benefit. Perhaps you could try disabling autoramresizer and set the size you want manually (see ramdisk.inf) or try an earlier version of the RAMDrive driver or autoramresizer.

PHDM6 (my RAMDrive version) does not work on a machine with only 128MB RAM, so perhaps your total RAM is insufficient as well (assuming your attempting to run it from RAM). BTW, PHDM6 works from the CD just fine, so there is no need to run from RAMDrive... hope you get it working - I've found PHDM6 to be the best all-around partition manager available - it does things Partition Magic is unable to do within PE.
