Hi,

some tools will fail if there is not enough room on the ramdisk.
Has anybody a simple and reliable way to check the free space
inside a batch cmd?
Of course using dir and get the "free" line will work.

You can always use the Clear RAM Drive function on the menu after each program you use so that you know you have (nearly) the full RAM Drive to use. smile.gif

smile.gifHi Smiley,

All you need do to check the state of the ramdrive is go to the Shell Features entry in the menu and click on BGInfo.
This will refresh the information that is printed on the desktop and show you the state of the ramdrive.

ok, you do it the human way.
I would like to put it into a cmd.
Some systems have plenty of memory, some have not.

ok, a sketch of what I want:

CODE

echo delete > b:\dummy.txt
for /F " usebackq skip=7 tokens=3 " %%i IN (`dir /-c b:\dummy.txt`) DO set r_sz=%%i
del b:\dummy.txt
if %r_sz% lss 20000000 .......

the disadvantage of this is that I have to create a known file.
