I've noticed that for quite some time now, I have to log in everytime I visit the forums even though I tell it to "remember me". I don't have this problem on any other forums or any other place that uses cookies. Anyone else notice this?

I'm not blocking any cookies and I'm not deleting my cookies happy.gif

It's not a big deal but I thought it was worth potsing about.

Yeah yeah, I know firefox is better :-)

IE6 with SP2 has been acting really strange. I really think it's a cookie or setting issue within IE. Have you checked any of your settings in IE yet?

If you still want to stick with IE, I would highly suggest using Maxthon, which is basically just a wrapper for IE. It uses the IE core but adds a ton of functionality, almost identical to Firefox. I've never had any problems on the forums with Maxthon. Check it out at http://www.maxthon.com smile.gif

@pcuser

check the URL that your bookmark has.. or what URL you type in to get to the site. i remember a while back that i had this probelm and there was a post by one of the forum guys about it

i would make sure that your bookmark says

http://www.ubcd4win.com/forum/

keeping the slash after 'forum' and with nothing after that slash. i had some stuff after the slash and it was causing me trouble.

PS I use Maxthon and its very nice

hope this helps smile.gif

Yes, branco you have a point. If you use just http://www.ubcd4win.com without the www. infront, the cookies wont work properly. I remember the site host posting about that before... smile.gif

@BrancoBlace,

That was exactly it! I didn't have the "/" after forums. Now I do and it remembers me.

Thank you very much

Hey I also have this issue of it not remembering me. I can tell you though it used to remember me I rebuilt my system and now it won't anymore. I don't use a bookmark. I just use the link from the homepage to the forums.

I know there used to be a place in the forum that discussed these issues and there was even a topic on this but it doesn't exist anymore (at least I can't find it).

also I'm using XP SP2 with Firefox.

Do you have Firefox set to clear your cache/cookies every time on exit? Are you sure the web address says http://www.ubcd4win.com/forum/ ? smile.gif
lawson23
default install of firefox I don't believe clears cookies everytime. I also don't have any issues with ohter sites.

One thing I noticed.
The link on the main page (http://www.ubcd4win.com) that I use points to:
http://www.ubcd4win.com/forum

I guess this is the problem? First off if this is the problem, why is this a problem? Doesn't this seem odd.

http://www.ubcd4win.com/forum/
Also if I type the above in the address bar it doesn't remember me.
lawson23
But if I type
http://www.ubcd4win.com/forum/
it does remember me.

I don't know why it doesn't work without the www in front, but that's the way it is. Hopefully Steel can change the link for the Forums button so that people don't have this issue anymore. smile.gif
