I have a couple of questions about updating these 2 programs.

1. when I run "getsysclean" it brings up a command interface and says that it is enumerating files then downloading files and then done. It repeats this process multiple times in the same session and seems that it is never going to end. There is also several times that my Norton Intrusion detection detects and blocks what it thinks is a threat. I ultimately ctrl+c and end this process. Is this normal to take this long and receive these threats?

2. I went to download the updated stinger and the only apparent update there is a name change for the program itself. Changes from stinger.exe to s-t-i-n-g-e-r.exe. If I update the program with this new filename, will it run.

Thanks for the work that you guys have done.......this project is awesome!!!! biggrin.gif

I origanally posted this in FAQ a few minutes ago, Sorry for the double post. (I took care of it - DW)

Is download.exe being blocked by Norton? Try running the bat file with Norton disabled.

I know another user posted about a similar problem a while back but no solution was found. I've never had any problems getting the files to download.

As for Stinger just make sure it's the same name as the one in the plugin and it will run.

Someone else also asked this question about Stinger. Here is a post that has instructions on how to change the plugin so it will work with the new filename:

Thanks for your quick response!!

Yes, it is download.exe that it is blocking...... I will try it again with it disabled. When it runs, should it get the updates after it goes through the "Enumerates files, downloading files, done" process once or is it suppose to repeat the same thing over and over.

Thanks

I am going to attempt the manual download for sysclean and have downloaded sysclean, cpr & lpt.........do the files need to be taken out of the zip folder and place in the plugin directory or just leave them in the zip folder?

Thanks

Can you open up the getsysclean.bat file in notepad and please post the contents for me to check the ftp locations.

Thanks.
