Will UBCD4WIN work if the system does not have a hard drive installed at all? Does the cd run from memory like a linux live cd or must you have a hard drive?

I can not say I have verified but you should be able to run this without a hard drive.

It all depends if the system will boot without a HD or not. Some BIOS manufacturers (Dell) do not allow this. The system will error out and will not boot. Some newer Dell systems can actually boot without but it will argue with you about it.
Check your manufacturer to see whether or not it will boot or not. Otherwise, burn a CD and test. If it does great!! If it doesn't well...

I've had mixed results. I'll try a couple of old P2 systems I have lying around tonight or tomorrow to confirm it for you.
