Hi

heard about this brand new version of windows XP called longhorn, coming out by the end of 2006 in france

does anybody know about a beta trial/purchase version on download in the US and from what site?

thanks

modifying my post: just learnt by Microsoft france that said version had already come out in the US

How much does it retail for?

Nope, we are still waiting also.

Longhorn is going to be the next release of Windows.

Prerelease beta version are out but not to the general public. These are usually free given away once you sign a THICK NDA.

The last release the gave out to Tech reporters got a bunch of attention because it is SO beta you should consider it ALPHA. They posted screen shots that just really showed how far they are from completing it and MS freaked out and had all the Pics pulled (via the NDA). I of course obtained a copies from my cache that I have/had (not telling) for my personal viewing.

*cough* I have 4051 and 4074... *cough*

Very nice layout thus far I do have to say. Very buggy at best. But then again what would expect from A. M$ and B. and Alpha. I had one major prob of a very minor and barely noticable memory leak of about 1MB a sec. Hardly noticeable...

Can't wait for a more developed version of the Beta to come out. Still have not been succesful in getting the latest Beta1 though... I so want to load it and check it... lol
