I have a IBM laptop which didn“t come with a separate XP CD. The software is pre-installed on a safe spot on the hard disk. When needed, reinstalling is done through a special process over the blue Access IBM button.
How do I go about when building the UBCD4Win CD?

Michiel,

the safest way will be to ask IBM for a Windows XP CD. Some years ago, companies had an obligation to give a Windows CD upon buyer request. I don't know if this is still true.

I don't know if this will work, but maybe you could use free data recovery software like PC Inspector to recover the os to another part or the drive or another HDD.
