I am able to boot in to the ubcd environment with network support. I need to copy several files off the hard drive. What is the best method. I was able to access a jump drive on another laptop, but not the one I am currently working on. I am connected to the internet through a router, but I am unable to find other computers on the network. Is it possible to access other computers on the router and transfer files that way. I tried to log into my web hosting account and transfer files to my online folders, but it wouldn't bring up the page. I also tried my ftp, but firefox wouldn't let me log in, something about anonymous logins.

Is there a way to make the pc recognize the jump drive?

Will an external hdd with usb be better to recognize?

How do you burn cd's if the ubcd is in the drive?

Where is the network connections in ubcd?

How do you get firefox to let me login to ftp, or my web hosting file manager?

Which utility do you run to check windows XP OS? XP freezes when it boots to Windows.

Thanks for the help in advance

If you have access to a usb hdd then that's the easiest option. Just make sure you have plugged in the usb hdd before you boot from the CD, otherwise the CD won't find the drive.

With any device that WinXP generically supports it needs to be plugged in before you boot.

As long as the "jump drive" was connected to the system when you booted UBCD4Win, it should be recognized.

Possibly.

The CD Burning software runs from the ram drive or from memory. Many people have reported that they have been able to burn CD while the project is booted from CD. Just run the burning software, select your files, have it ready to burn, and then trade CD's. It should burn then you just need to put your UBCD4Win CD back in.

You need to setup your network correctly. When the CD first boots the Network Configurer starts up, you need to modify some settings. Probably only the network name. I'm pretty sure you can run Network Configurer again after it's already been run to change settings. It's either located in Programs--->Network, or System--->Network. I've been changing so many things for the new version I can't remember how the menu is setup for 2.5.

Why not use FileZilla?? I've honestly had problems with FTP and FireFox on my normal system. So just try FileZilla.

Your final question is hard to answer. It could be a number of things causing the issue. You can check many different things with the different tools included in the project.

Hope my answers help, if you have any other questions or need more clarification...please post again, we will be glad to help.
