Lawson's V2.55 All in one fix - See Lawsons post for instructions and list of fixes

Download Fix for K-Meleon replace the existing xml file with this one in the k-meleon plugin folder.

There also appears to be a problem with Firefox, while a fix is created you might want to consider using Digi's Opera Plugin.

The sysclean.cmd plugin has errors.

The following files can also safely be deleted as they are not needed.
sysclean.old
sysclean.zip
choice.exe

The following line in the one in V2.55 is at fault:
if not exist sysclean.com download.exe http://www.trendmicro.com/ftp/products/tsc/cpr/sysclean.com sysclean.com /delete

With the new download.exe if you want to specify the output file name it has to be with the /output switch, this is why sysclean won't download. I've also removed the /delete switch and put in the /update

Download the fixed cmd file here - Remember to select the free download type option this will take you to the download link.

Or edit the following file in notepad, cut and paste the following in bold:

Sysclean.cmd

Thanks for posting this for everyone Stidy. Please keep me updated if there are any other problems with it so I can make the necessary adjustments in the future releases of the project.

Sysclean.zip

The above site has a zip file with the updated command file for those not confident enough to edit via notepad. Download and extract the contents into the the sysclean folder. This file is only 2kb.

Remember to select the free download type option this will take you to the download link.

K-meleon fix

Edit k-meleon_nu2menu.xml in notepad replace with the following.

<!-- Nu2Menu entry for K-Meleon -->
<NU2MENU>
<MENU ID="Applications">
<MITEM TYPE="ITEM" DISABLED="@Not(@FileExists(@GetProgramDrive()\Programs\k-meleon\k-meleon.exe))" CMD="RUN" FUNC="@GetProgramDrive()\Programs\k-meleon\k-meleon.exe @GetProgramDrive()">K-Meleon Browser</MITEM>

</NU2MENU>

I figured out what is wrong with the resolution changes. It's rather silly or stupid. I did a bunch of testing and finally figured out that I didn't have the path set right.

A easy QUICK fix, is to just select the "BGInfo" menu item in "Shell Features."
Programs--->Shell Features---->BGInfo

If you feel like fixing it and modifying files here:

In your folder structure go to:
C:\pebuilder313\plugins\geoshell\geoshell\files
Find the file named "SetResGeo.cmd"....modify the file
Navigate to the bottom of the file, you should see:
CODE
%systemdrive%\Programs\Nu2Menu\setres.exe h1280 v1024 b32
REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Geo\GeoShell\Plugins\GeoTasks0_1" /v "Plugin Width Hint" /t REG_DWORD /d "1150" /f
goto end
:end
REM-- GeoShell recycle
%SystemDrive%\programs\geoshell\geoshell -quick_recycle
REM-- BIGINFO data
%~d0
cd "%~dp0"
bginfo.exe bginfo.bgi /timer:0
exit

Modify the next to last line to:
CODE

%systemdrive%\Programs\bginfo\bginfo.exe %systemdrive%\Programs\bginfo\bginfo.bgi /timer:0

Very simple fix. biggrin.gifYou may also want to remove the "REM" lines, as they are NOT recognized by CMD files. They generate error messages, which usually aren't seen because of the "exit" command at the end, which do not mess up the functionality of the file.....but if your a dork like me you don't like that stuff. biggrin.giftongue.gif

Well, what I noticed about Firefox in 2.55 is that it doesn't seem to work when you open it the first time, but if you shut it down and then restart it it works hunky dory.... Strange, but true....

Yeah, that is the same behavior I have with FF. I'm still not sure what is causing this.

For the GeoShell folders....yeah, same here. I forgot to include another GeoShell in the path, post is edited....thanks biggrin.gif

smile.gifHi All,

I have not seen a post on the problem with CWShredder in 2.55, so here is a fixed XML file to have it working from the disk in a running Windows session.

CWShredder_Nu2menu.xml

<!-- Nu2Menu entry for CWShredder -->
<NU2MENU>
<MENU ID="Malware Tools">
<MITEM TYPE="ITEM" CMD="RUN" VISIBILITY="@Shl(@FileExists(@GetWinDir()\setupldr.bin),'1')" FUNC="@GetProgramDrive()\Programs\CWShredder\CWShredder.exe">CWShredder</MITEM>
</MENU>
</NU2MENU>

This does not show CWShredder in the menu when running from the booted disk, as it does not work properly under UBCD4Win.

But shows up and runs correctly from the auto started disk under Windows.

All the best,
Snowtime

@\plugin\nu2menu\nu2menu.xml
Old Code:
CODE
<MITEM TYPE="POPUP" MENUID="Network Tools">Networking Tools</MITEM>

Suggested Change:
CODE
<MITEM TYPE="POPUP" MENUID="Network Tools">Network Tools</MITEM>

Reason is this can cause issues with the menu where a user will end up with a "Networking Tools" menu and a "Network Tools" Menu containing all the same Apps.

How does this happen? If you have a plugin that defines the Sub Menu "Network Tools" in the plugin XML.
CODE
<!-- Nu2Menu entry for "example" -->
<NU2MENU>
<MENU ID="Programs">
 <MITEM TYPE="POPUP" MENUID="Network Tools">Network Tools</MITEM>
</MENU>
<MENU ID="Network Tools">
 <MITEM TYPE="ITEM" DISABLED="@Not(@FileExists(@GetProgramDrive()\Programs\example))" CMD="RUN" FUNC="@GetProgramDrive()\Programs\example" PARM="1">example</MITEM>
</MENU>
</NU2MENU>

Plugin generating applications will insert this code sometimes if a menu is defined.

There are other ways to resolve this issue but this would be the quickest for all users and plugins.

HijackThis doesn't start (yes, I'm trying under Windows, not PE). All I get are a CMD window such:

hijackScan.CMD: Starting...

HijackSCAN.CMD: No temp variable set...
hijackSCAN.CMD: Try adding a ramdrive...

Press any key to continue . . .

I have not tested but the above should do the job. I believe the original run was made to try to get Hijackthis functioning in PE.

I would like to add also that hijack this does run under pe with runscanner. I have had to use it a couple times to clean things off when there was no other option. Admittedly it does show a few pe variables but it is easy to tell the ones that are from the host system as they don't have a driver letter of x:\

File Association for HTM HTML to k-meleon browser does not work
----------------------------

because they point to CDROM \programs\K-meleon\K-meleon.exe
rather than %ramdrv%\K-meleon\K-meleon.exe
(not the same file despite the same name)

FIX 1
Plugins\K-meleon\k-meleon.inf

CODE
[Software.AddReg]

; change
; 0x2,"Classes\htmlfile\DefaultIcon","","%SystemDrive%\Programs\k-meleon\k-meleon.exe,0"
; 0x2,"Classes\htmlfile\shell\open\command","","""%SystemDrive%\Programs\k-meleon\k-meleon.exe"" ""file:\%1"""

; to
0x2,"Classes\htmlfile\DefaultIcon","","%ramdrv%\k-meleon\k-meleon.exe,0"
0x2,"Classes\htmlfile\shell\open\command","","""%ramdrv%\k-meleon\k-meleon.exe"" ""file:\%1"""

Note K-meleon has to be run once for this to work
possibly the self extracting file k-meleon.exe could be made to launch k-meleon.exe in the ram drive
and not object to overwriting previous copy.

alternative suggestion
add OB1 plugin from original PEBUILDER, for viewing local HTML files this is quicker to start and runs from CDROM,
(For Internet Browsing then Firefox or K-meleon would be prefered)

to set file association for html htm add to ob1.inf

CODE

[Software.AddReg]
; file association
0x1, "Classes\.html","","Ob1.Document"
0x1, "Classes\.htm" ,"","Ob1.Document"
0x1, "Classes\Ob1.Document","","Off By One Document"

HOW TO:
Create a Dir Called "Patch" in your PE Build folder.
Inside this folder extract the contents of this zip file. (Make sure there is not a Patch folder inside the Patch folder. You should see patch.bat and a plugin folder in the Patch folder only.
Second
You will need to MODIFY the second line of this bat file - text "e:\bartspe\pebuilder313" to be your PE build dir location. Mine is: e:\bartspe\pebuilder313
