Am I the only one getting timeouts when the program tries updating AntiVir?

I can get the files manually from ftp://ftp3.tnc.edu.tw/ but was wondering if anyone else encounters this problem.

I've seen it reported many times that the update servers get busy..

It is more than busy servers. I can access it with a browser and get an immediate response while the FTP in the command window just hangs.

If I'm the only one having the problem, that is OK. Just wondering if others have the problem as well.

If its more than just busy servers explain why I've often seen this from within the program itself. I've seen the update go quickly and also slowly... the only explaination I've ever seen is that they get busy from time to time.

I see that you are also reporting networking issue... this may also be an explaination why you also are having more trouble than others though.

Do you have a firewall enabled? Has download.exe been granted access to the internet?

This is the only reason I can think of as to why it's timing out.

I've just tested the bat file and the above download location worked for me.

Even though I *thought* that download.exe was given permission thru the firewall, this was not the case. Thanks for the hint Stidyup, it solved the problem. It now connects and initiates a download no matter the fast/slow response time of their servers.
