I have used DvdDecrypter for many years & oddly enough have never used it to RIP anything.
That portion of the program had no value to me, but the burn engine was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC.

A while back DvdDecrypter was attacked by lawsuits & shut down permanently.

The "BURNING ENGINE" was re-born & is now available for free download again.
I have never, not even once, had an image fail to burn with my usb2-DVD recorder.
Every other piece of software I have tried was hit or miss & often created a coaster.

Anyone who is looking for a great piece of software for their burner needs to try ImageBurn.
This is by far my absolute favorite program to burn images with.

As I'm sure you all know, DVD Decrypter was shut down due to legal reasons. Not wanting to waste all my hard work, I'd like to introduce you to ImgBurn! - (Say hello ImgBurn) - "Hello" ohmy.gif)

ImgBurn is an enhanced version of the 3.5.4.0 burn engine - and it will continue to get better and better as time goes on.

I hope in time you'll grow to like ImgBurn as much as you did DVD Decrypter.

ImgBurn carries on from where DVD Decrypter left off! (Well, for the burning part anyway!)

ImgBurn can write most types of CD / DVD images and it supports all the latest writers (including booktype / bitsetting on many of the major ones - i.e. BenQ, LiteOn, NEC, Plextor, Sony). You can even use ImgBurn to erase / format your rewritable media!

ImgBurn will try its very best to burn your DVD-Video double layer images using the layer break you've specified in the IFO files, but it can also calculate the best place for you, to save you the trouble.

Advanced functionality can be found in context menus that appear when you right click on various bits of the user interface. Can you find them all??!!

sad.gifmad.gifI'm mostly mad at myself......I didn't realize that DVD Decrypter was no more!!

Thanks for the update, I'll have to check it out!!

Heh, I made a detailed guide long ago at how to rip a DVD movie with DVDecrypter and then to shrink it with DVD Shrink and then reburn with DVDecrypter. It still is a good guide (and I still have it somewhere here I think) as both programs (even though discontinued) work amazingly well. Though, for most burning functions, I tend to use Nero, as that's what I first fell in love with LONG ago... smile.gifNever have had a problem with Nero, ever. smile.gif

The last version of DVD Decrypter can be downloaded here.

It seems a nice little program and supports a number of image types.

Is there any advantage to using the last version of DVD Decrypter instead of the newer ImgBurn? Or vice-versa? The author's quote sounds like ImgBurn is better than DVDD, but maybe that's just marketing talk.

The major advantage of using the new engine would be if you have a dual-layer DVD burner.
Most of the refinements have been done in this particular area.

If you do not have the final version of DvdDecrypter, you better add it to your archive before
it disappears completely. It works good enough that the motion picture industry felt they had to destroy it.

I would definitely say that if you use the old version, disable the automatic updates because the programmer
had to give the domain name to the offended party to comply with legal concerns.
I am sure that they are tracking everyone that is using this program for future lawsuits.
