I burned 2.55 using my Sony laptop but when I tried to boot my severely damaged HP laptop (SMART Failure Predicted on Hard Disk 0: Toshiba MK6022GAX-(PM)) I got the following message:

File\i386\system32\vgaoem.fon could not be loaded.
The error code is 32768

Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit.

I'm anxious to use the boot disk but I can't for the life of me figure out what I did wrong. Also I searched the forum for this particular problem but found no threads.

If this is the wrong place please move it or if there's an existing thread please provide a link. Thanks in advance.

MS on error message

Does the file exist on the created CD?

Try rebuilding the ubcd4win again.

What sort of media have you used CD-RW or CD-R? Some cd-rom's have problems with CD-RW as boot media.

Most of the time that particular error comes up it's related to a CD read error.
It never seems to be the same file each time the 32768 error code comes up.

Try buring another CD & use a different speed on your burner.
Also try not to use a cd-rw & stick to a good quality cd-r media.

I also found a reference to this problem being that the c: drive contained a copy of txtsetup.sif.
(C:\TXTSETUP.SIF)

Have you tried booting the DOS VERSION OF UBCD?

Does your XP SETUP CD boot ok?

I used a CD-RW. Specifically, a Phillips CD-RW 4-12x.

So far I haven't been able to get it to boot at all using the UBCD. My XP SETUP CD does boot ok.

I will rebuild the UBCD using a CD-R and using a different speed and post the results here when I do.
