I really don't think that anyone has posted this question before. I am not familiar with the "media" version of XP. I was contacted by an individual about a month ago asking if the project would work with his system.
He contacted me again with awesome results. The project was created sucessfully with his XP media CD!! Just a FYI for everyone, I'll add this to the FAQ on the site soon!
Full Version: Create UBCD4Win with XP Media system??
That's pretty cool, from what I've read it's only a more fancy GUI that sit's on top of the complete WinXP code base.
Its pretty slick really. Lots of features, but nothing you can't get for free with KnopMyth or whatnot.
The most handy function if you will, is being able to install emulators (if your into that kinda thing) and other Win applications.
But pretty much every major OS has media functionality, or plug ins - such as apples new media desktop widget.
If you can get a copy for cheep, I would say go for it, the massive hardware compatibility is nice, otherwise, go download KnopMyth: http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Knopp_Myth
