I have just successfully built and booted from the cd. The purpose of the opperation was to try to recover a seemingly scrambled hard drive. When I boot from the CD I see the ram drive and the cd drive but no hard drives. The show up no problems in the bios and the partition programs find them but not avaialable in the check disk programs. How do I mount them?
The disk manager wont run because it cant find the RPC server. The RPC service wont start because of "dependencies"

Hi

If the bios is picking up the drive then it should be working, run testdisk and see what it can find, I suspect that windows is seeing your hdd as RAW, which means it thinks it's not formatted. Testdisk should recover the partition info and give you access to your drive again.

Start
Programs
DiskTools
Partition
TestDisk

How to use TestDisk

Your not using a 3rd party Raid or IDE PCI card are you?
