Hi Guys
I was looking forward to using the UBCD4win as I have used PE Builder in the past and was excited to see everything you have added.

I downloaded Bart Pe and both the program and drivers UBCD4win exe also the BST driver packs.

I followed your instructions to the letter including the detail on the driver packs from the forum. I copied my Win XP SP2 CD to a folder on the hard drive.

I started PE Builder and unfortunetly I showed the following errors and so didnt create the iso file, I shut down and restarted and tried again incase any of the files were locked.

The errors are as follows any help would be apreciated.
Thanks
Stephen

Loading "C:\pebuilder313\setuphiv"
Error: loadKey failed:

Closing hive "C:\pebuilder313\petmphive"
Error: closeHive failed: RegUnLoadKey (key="PEBuilder.exe-C:/pebuilder313/petmphive") returned error 0: Access is denied.

Cleanup temporarily files
Error: DeleteFile() "C:\pebuilder313\petmphive" failed.
Error: DeleteFile() "C:\pebuilder313\petmphive.log" failed.
Error: DeleteFile() "C:\pebuilder313\setuphiv" failed.
Error: DeleteFile() "C:\pebuilder313\setuphiv.log" failed.
Builder has stopped because there are 4 build errors
ISO image is not created, you must fix the errors!

Are you using a Dell XP CD?

I had that exact same problem with a Dell XP CD and luckily there's a simple script you can run to fix it, usually. But first, do you have a regular XP CD or is that what you used in the first place? Thanks. smile.gif

When I've had the access is denied error message's and the can't delete files I usually delete the all files/folders and start again. This has always corrected the problem for me.

well it has to do with pebuilder actually bombing while doing a build. What then happens is that it leaves those files in use so it is hard to get rid of them. Rebooting the system in my case and then running pebuilder again allowed me to contine.

It is better to find what is causing the issue though.

There is also a nice little program called unlocker that will allow you to delete files in use. It's quite handy. You can simply kill he process using he file or you can also select to have the processed killed and the file deleted. It works extremely well those stubborn things like that.

Hi Guys
Many thanks for all your replies. To let you know the problem was the Dell XP CD, I copied the contents of another Win XP (SP1) over onto my hard drive and used it as the source. It cleared all the errors however it did produce a fresh one sdhcinst.dll not found. So I located sdhcinst in the I386 folder on my hard drive (SP2) and dropped it into the SP1 folder and ran PE again and this time it did create the iso image. I have only had a brief opertunity to play with the CD but all looks good so far. I was expecting possible problems because of sdhcinst.dll being SP2 and everything else being SP1 but so far so good.
Thanks
Stephen

You can use AutoStreamer to slipstream SP2 to that SP1 folder. smile.gif
