When I run the driver exe I get the following error message and no files are added to the \net and \scsiadapter folders.

The system cannot find the file .\input.inf
Any help appreciated.

Which drivers add-on are you using---the old 1.6 or the new 2.01? If the new 2.01, there are special instructions to follow posted here in the forums as the drivers don't get added to those folders you listed. But in any case, it seems like you may have received a corrupted download. Try downloading it again.
